THEN THE DEVIL IS SIX
Yes, I know I’ve used that lyric before. However, having just seen the Pixies’ triumphant return at V2004 yesterday, I feel entirely justified in using it again! That and the fact that our current Champions, Claymore Athletic FC, knocked 6 past San Dimas this weekend, including doubles from Henry and Gravesen, in what was billed (by Peej!) as an early Championship decider. That’s it decided, then! Also decided was this week’s POTW £100,000, won by Claymore for their 6 goal salvo. Well done Clive-lad!
So, Claymore top the table again this week as one of 4 teams still with 100% win records. In second are Boston Rock FC, who beat fellow title aspirants Aardvark Abacus 4-2, including a superb Alan Smith strike. Fred West LGXI are third, overcoming Prettier Than You 2-1 with Volz and Pistone goals. And Thommo’s Titans, 2-0 winners over Yorks, are the final 100% team in 4th.
Elsewhere, there were first wins for Final Fantasy XI, including Patrik Berger’s wondergoal; The Groove Machine, whose 3-1 win over Kylie included a Timothee Atouba double; and Trusted By Millions, whose 4-0 tonking of Real Muppets, courtesy of an Andrew Cole double and Phillips and Gerrard strikes, dumped Ryan’s team onto the bottom of the still embryonic table.

THE FF£100,000 QUESTION
New Chelsea and San Dimas signing Mateja Kezman once scored for Partizan Belgrade against Red Star in a charged Belgrade derby, and proceeded to celebrate in what manner?
Answers to me by close of play Saturday 28 August 2004. As usual, first correct one out of the metaphorical hat gets the dosh.
A fan invaded the pitch during the Euro 2004 Final between Portugal and Greece and threw a Barcelona Flag at Luis Figo. The fan then fan full-tilt into the goal where he got caught up in the net and became easy pickings for the Polizei. Not the sharpest tool in the box, then.
Only the one correct answer, from Peej, so San Dimas are £100,000 richer. Some consolation for their thrashing this weekend. One wrong guess from Ceri, who guessed at a red card.
SHORTS
· Hush my mouth department; this from Peej, who resurrects an old News Questionnaire debate: “After poo-pooing my David Beckham shirt number answer last season, I hope it didn’t escape your attention that Michael Owen’s shirt number at Real is a prime number!”
