WE’VE PUT IN OUR TIME FROM BOSTON TO BUFFALO
The Paul Cartmell Memorial Trophy Final will be contested between You Know Your Boston Rock FC and Final Fantasy XI, on Sunday 28 December 2003. Both PCMT Semi Finals were settled cleanly this weekend, with Boston Rock again saving their best form for this Cup competition, gaining a 3-0 victory over Fred West Landscape Gardening XI. Goals from Lampard, Kewell and a long-range Gresko effort put the “Sky Heroes” into the final. They face Ceri Bevan’s Final Fantasy XI, a single Youri Djorkaeff strike settling the Bevan battle 1-0 in favour of Ceri, over Ady’s Aardvark Abacus, Ceri emulating the recent feat of Rich Smith in reaching a final in her debut season. Well done to both!
In the league, Claymore Athletic FC resume pole position, after the top-of-the-table clash against Kylie Bumcheeks was settled by Bridge and Frandsen goals in favour of Clive’s team. San Dimas go back up to third by virtue of a 2-0 win over the Groove Machine and Aardvark’s 1-1 draw with Thommo’s Titans, whilst Final Fantasy XI and Fred West also win to keep their challenges up.
At the bottom, Ryan wins again, this time over off-colour Mega Buck Bandits, to lift the Muppets off bottom slot. That position is taken over by Rachel, whose Prettier Than You team lost the WSFFL girly pillowfight against Ceri by 2-0. And Boston Rock lift themselves above York’s Returning Glory after beating them 3-0.
POTW? Well, another one for me, I’m afraid. In a slow goal week, the “Sky Heroes” 3 goal salvos in the league against Yorks, and also in the PCMT Semi Final against fancied Fred West, were the picks of the bunch, so the £100,000 goes to Boston Rock!

THE FF£100,000 QUESTION
Why did Alan Shearer recently give referee Rob Stiles a red card?
Guesses by close of play on Saturday 6 December 2003. First correct one out of the hat after that date gets the dosh!
Phil Neville’s excuse for Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton ranks up with the “grey shirts” classic from another beating by the Saints some years ago. It was that the grass was too dry! I’ll let Phil explain it himself: “not wishing to make excuses, the pitch was very dry and it did slow the ball down a lot. We do like a nice and zippy wet pitch”. Future hosts of Man U, take note – and get your hot air blowers onto the pitch before the game!
Actually, I wonder what Phil’s excuse will be for their defeat this afternoon against Chelsea, at a sodden Stamford Bridge; “the grass was too wet”???!!!
I received correct guesses from Rachel (wrong kind of grass – close enough), Beef, Ryan and Dean. Trusted By Millions won the roll of the 4-sided dice, so Beef takes the £100,000. Well done Andrew!
SHORTS
·      November Manager of the Month was a hard one to do – everyone lost at least once in November! In the end I’ve decided to give it to Ceri Bevan of Final Fantasy XI, whose 100% league record was only blighted by a defeat from Champions Kylie Bumcheeks, and who also, during November, won through to her first Final in her debut year, beating both Aardvark Abacus and Claymore Athletic FC in the process. Well done Ceri, you pocket £250,000 for your efforts in the month.
