Short Straw continued their good form against top sides by holding Rich’s Bumcheeks – erm, to a 1-1 draw, that is – whilst Aardvark Abacus and Boston Rock both won; Aardvark collecting their customary points in the Bevan derby with a comfortable 3-0 win over brother David’s Mega Bucks, and the “Sky Heroes” beating their bogey team, Elland Road Big Boys, by a hard-fought 3 goals to 2, the winner a first for Boston Rock from sub Lee Hendrie.
Trusted continued their impressive recent run with a 4-0 demolition of Yorks to stay 4th, whilst Prettier Than You move up to 5th at the expense of former incumbents Claymore, Rachel giving Clive a 4-1 spanking including goals from strikers Bellamy and Vassell, and from expensive recent recruit Danny Higginbotham. In fact, this result earned PTY the POTW £100,000. Well done Rachel.
Elsewhere Real Muppets continue their good form with a 3-1 disposal of bottom club Viola’s Pier; Nil Satis and the Groove Machine shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw; and San Dimas and Fred did likewise, drawing 4-4, with a Van Nistelrooy hat-trick and a Vieira strike being cancelled out by a John Terry double and goals from Jenas and the returning Freddie Kanoute.
